Bakakozou is sucking my life away. Not that I am really doing anything else over the summer . I've pretty much given up on this thing. The only reason I had it for so long was to keep my already poor writing skills somewhat decent, but I have other mediums to do that with now.
So... bye? Most of you know how to keep in touch with me outside of xanga anyway, so give me a call if you miss me too much.
I have more important things to do as of late, but I figured I owed an update, stream of relativity style.
1) My hair is extremely long... well I guess a better term would be "shaggy". Some people say it works, others think of a different persuasion. However I really don't have a choice in the matter, seeing as I don't have any money to get it cut. So shaggy it shall remain whether you like it or not.
2) And whether you like it or not, I am back from Europe (duh). Europe was good, that's all you get on that trip, unless you come and find me and drag some stories out of me. All in all it was very enjoyable.
3) Other things that are enjoyable: I have redeployed myself to WoW, because the game really is that addicting.
4) On the same track (video games) Steambot Chronicles is actually a very gratifying game. It is extremely open ended, so it doesn't involve much of a story line, however the fact that you can do freaking anything makes up for that fact. Plus Coriander is insanely hot...
5) Speaking of hot, my pool is open to any who want it. Bikinis are a requirement for those deemed worthy of wearing them (that excludes all transvestites and cross-dressers).
For those of you who don't know... I'mma be gone to that Europe place
starting tomorrow. I'll be gone for 12 days... and cell phones
don't work internationally... so don't call me. Ever.
See you when I get back... or I guess I could kill you. Either would work for me.
Straight from Japan, the pinnacle of portable gaming technology, guaranteed to get you laid at least once a day from its sheer sexiness. You can't resist it... I can't resist it... and thus it is mine. And just in time for the Europe trip too... what better way to spend 13 hours on a plane?
It's really quite diabolical just how genius Nintendo's marketing branch is. They release a portable gaming system, big and bulky, but still not by any means ugly. And this system is wonderful, immensely popular all over the world, and completely dominates its competition. Then they decide to release another version of that same system... an improved version... a much sexier, lighter, more efficient, better version. And although, at its core, it is essentially the same system as the original, Nintendo does just enough tweaking and adds just enough awesomeness to its new system that it is literally impossible to not justify buying it, even with your brain screaming at you against your discretion.
Lets compare and contrast the DSlite to its predecessor and you'll see what I mean. Shall we? Below is a picture of the 2 systems.
The first thing that should jump out at you is the incomparable brightness discrepancy between the two. The DSlite not only is 5 times brighter than its predecessor, but it has an adjustable brightness control to accompany its blinding awesomeness. 2nd thing that should jump out at you is the size difference between the two. The DSlite is smaller, lighter, sleeker, and boosts a more efficient design. Notice that they move the microphone from the bottom of the system to the middle hinge (it's that little black slit), which not only makes for much more accessible use, but coupled with the fact that they move the power light to the outer hinge as well, makes it possible to make the system smaller.
Now to the things you probably didn't, or can't, notice. First off, the LCD screens are improved... not just the brightness. The images produced are clearer, sharper, and have more color, making playing the system much easier on the eyes. Another nice touch is how they redesigned the shape of the screens. They have a subtle convex-concave play going on between the two, making it impossible for small items to fall in there damaging the system. The buttons now have springs under them, making them stiffer and more responsive than the original (a very very good thing). The stylus it boasts is longer and easier to hold as well... and they added a scratch resistant lid cover. There are other, subtle things they changed... but this list should do for now.
See what I mean? They improve the system just enough to warrant a purchase of it... it's undeniable that the lite is leaps and bounds better than its predecessor. Genius marketing... genius...
Hardly anyone from real life actually reads this thing anymore, most of my readers consist of different members of forums I moderate, and they seem to like my anime recommendations. So I'll do another one. Of course I can't resist plugging a group I work for [Bakakozou this time], but if you know me by now, I don't work for groups that put out shitty releases. Anyway, on to the show.
Blood+ is one of the most underrated shows of all time, bar none... it truly is a work of art. First off, it is by the production team that was responsible for the phenomenon Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, so you know the animation and voice acting are both top of the line. Then add the fact that they signed Hanz Zimmer, film composer extrodinare, to compose an all new OST (Original Sound Track for those of you not familiar with fun-sub lingo), and the show is almost guaranteed to succeed. The only thing that might bring it down is the quality of the story... but fear not, it is quite ingenious, creative, and diabolically addicting.
Plot Summary:Throughout
the passage of time and the shifts in backgrounds, a particular war
continues to leave its mark on history, extending its influence into
the modern world. There are two major groups involved in the ensuring
war. The first group consists of monsters known as Chiropterans who can
change their appearances into that of human beings. They are actually
immortals who feed on the blood of the living. The second group is an
organization known as the "Red Shield", formed to track down these
monsters and exterminate them. Otonashi Saya is a high-school girl who
lives a peaceful life with her family. The only problem is, she has no
recollections of her life beyond that of the past year. However, her
happy life will be destroyed by an event that will lead her to her
destined fate. (Taken from Anime News Network)
That's about as good of a summary as you're going to get without giving away major plot advances. As you've probably guessed, Blood+ is a show about vampires, but not in the traditional sense. It takes a... different view of what vampires actually are, so don't expect this to be your average, run of the mill, blood-sucking movie. Not to say that the show isn't incredibly violent... because it is. However, unlike other shows in this genre, Blood+ actually has substance to back up all the violence, contrary to relying purely on violence to sell the show. Luckily for the faint of heart, the violent parts aren't in great amounts, and they don't happen too often... you might go 3 or 4 episodes without any fighting so to speak... further supporting my point that this is more than a mindlessly violent show.
The show is technically tied with the movie, Blood: The Last Vampire, but really only in name, and the fact that the main character is the same. The quality gap between the movie and the show is astounding... so much so that I wouldn't even recommend watching the movie before hand. It really doesn't provide much back story at all...
One thing I've found about this show is that there is no "grey" area in how people feel about it. You either fall madly in love with the show, or become hopelessly bored with it. My sister and I both love it, some other friends of mine can't see what is so great about it, but I haven't met anyone that has just mediocre feelings toward it. True it's not my favorite show in the world... but it's certainly up there. (Watch, I'll get a flood of comments saying they have mediocre feelings about the show). Anyway... I definitely highly recommend it... and to let you have a taste, here is the OP to the 3rd season. There are some spoilers... but unless you're really paying attention, and have an extremely good memory when you do watch the show... it shouldn't matter. Again... kinda crappy quality, but if you want the real deal download the show... here.
